Seo Press Formula, by Brian G. Johnson, is launching on November the 6th. Brian G. Johnson has been involved in internet marketing for over 6 years full-time and in his latest product (having only released a total of two products ever to date) he reveals how he has generated traffic and sales online using WordPress. In Brian’s own words, he aims to “share everything I know about wordpress and driving free search engine traffic for profit”. It’s a simple statement, but does he manage to achieve what he set out to do?
SEO Press Formula comes bundled as an eBook of over 70 pages and videos which relate back to various sections of the eBook. The eBook covers many sections but is primarily segmented into the following parts: A brief background look at websites online, setting up your blog and making it SEO friendly, niche selection, extra keyword research & information and then closes with some further information about web 2.0/video/social bookmarking sites. The material covered is presented well and is easy reading. There are over 20+ videos which go into a visual demonstration of some of the sections covered in the main eBook, but for those who are pressed for time and don’t really want to watch the videos to see if there is anything of use will find a brief description of what each video covers in the main eBook. Overall, the main eBook offers all the necessary setps someone should go through to set up a blog and them how to make the blog SEO friendly in order to attract as much traffic as possible based on the keywords they have chosen. Brian has tried to present his material as a plan, hence the title Seo Press Formula. The main eBook is essentially what he believes to be the plan someone needs to follow if they wish to create profitable blogs. Having said that, let’s take a look at where I believe the product fails to deliver.
The sales page for Seo Press Formula boldly states “How I Made $21,192.61 in 90 Days” but the actual product in no way goes into any depth or detail of how you could generate those sales or income. Statements like this on sales pages need to be taken with a grain of salt. Another let down is that half of the main eBook is devoted to actually setting up and making your blog SEO friendly (approx 40+ pages). A large portion of that material is basic and can be found elsewhere online for free. To give you an example of this one section covers how to install wordpress and another covers installing addons such as All in One SEO to improve the SEO factor of your blog. While much of the information covered in those pages is crucial and can help your blog rank better for your chosen keywords (using permalinks etc), it appears to be that the norm for many products is that a large chunk of the material is dedicated to basic or fundamental steps which leads me to personally believe this product is targeted to beginners or beginners with some experience. Again, there is nothing wrong with fundamental or basic information, but why aren’t authors offering 40+ pages on advanced material?
While at least half of the material is fundamental, a lot is covered and most if not all of the advice given is valuable and isn’t a waste of time. Something I liked was that the author even suggests what areas you could skip or skim through if you already have some experience in blogs etc. Based on just how much is covered, there are bound to be sections that many beginners are not aware of or have heard about and just haven’t looked at in detail. I think everyone knows that there are many things one can do to improve the SEO ranking of a site and its very easy to forget some methods or tricks that you can use. It’s in cases like this where I think the material covered is a great refresher and can be used to jog your memory of what can be done to try and boost your SEO ranking. Another thing about SEO Press Formula that I think offers some use for beginners is the niche selection. While in no way is the niche selection the same length as just setting up and making your blog SEO friendly (40+ pages), but it does appear to offer some value. Basic ways in which one can find potential niches (checking eBay etc), then checking competition and competing websites along with estimated search volume and using google trends to spot trends. The information within is again limited and very basic, but for a beginner it should be useful. Nowadays, most products that come onto the market often completely ignore market/niche selection or only offer a few lines of what they call information but in reality is nothing more than fluff. Finally, towards the end of the eBook you will find a massive resource section listing social book marking sites, rss directories and other resources you can use to link to help improve the rank of your site. The list is fairly extensive and you shouldn’t really have any need to look for more sites to submit to online as the ones provided should keep most people very busy.
Is Seo Press Formula worth buying? I guess the best way to guage this is by looking at what Brian set out to do with his new product. That being to teach everything he knows about wordpress and driving free traffic to it to generate profit. Did he deliver? Overall I would have to say yes. A quick look at the main eBook makes it obvious that he includes an extensive amount of information on wordpress, making it SEO friendly and using different methods or sites to drive free traffic to it. My only doubt would be the part where he aims to “generate profit”. The core focus to me of the eBook is about setting up your blog and making it SEO friendly to drive traffic. Other than adsense or affiliate links not much indepth detail or information is really given to generating profit. Personally Brian’s latest product does deliver, as long as you purchase it with the intent of learning as much as possible about making blogs SEO friendly and getting traffic. The information contained within is extensive but it is aimed more to beginners or intermediate beginners. People with any kind of experience will probably still find a tidbit or two of valuable information inside, but I don’t think this would justify purchasing it. Definitely a product for beginners, but still offers value for those looking to learn a stash of SEO tips and tricks for blogging.
